All extra curricular activites at the Hamilton Public School Board are being axed, and it's the board that's doing it.
It includes everything from sports to homework clubs.
The board made the decision as a pre-emptive move because as of today, all 37-hundred elementary and high school teachers are in a legal strike position.
Board Chair Tim Simmons says while after school activities are off, classes are on, at least for now.
Simmons says he expects Hamilton elementary teachers will stage a one day walk out sometime in the coming weeks.
The Halton District School Board has also postponed all athletic events scheduled for next week.
