Snow clearing efforts lambasted by councillor

Snow clearing efforts following last week's storm have sent a chill through City Hall.

Councillor Sam Merulla is calling for refunds or some sort of compensation for taxpayers --- after he says many residential streets went unplowed for several days.

The Ward 4 councillor adds that he's received over 100 complaints from residents. 

Merulla believes that contractors are to blame for the "inconsistencies" and calls it one of the worst snow removal events in recent history.

City officials confirm that they will investigate the service. 

According to Environment Canada figures ---- Hamilton recieved 13 centimetres of snow on Boxing Day.

Between 5 and 10 more fell on Saturuday.

    i live within 1minute of the street mantenance division in dundas .they do a lousy job here ,the only reason they do my street ,and mind you they do it at 50 MILES per hour.,is the fact that they have to go down this street to get back to the shop.they fly down here ,one of these days some kid will die.

    It wasn't only a problem in Hamilton, I was on the Qew after 8:00 am last Thursday, driving from Niagara to Toronto, the Highway looked as though no plows or even sanders had been out.This is unacceptable , I think there should be surpluses in the snow clearing budgets given last years warm and snowless winter. More taxes = less services I guess.

    I think many thought that there be no world to be plowed. Many were in believe
    for that December 21.12, doomsday's prophesy. It feels that we have some energy that is around us because more and more things are happening out of the norm.
    It is nevertheless not a beneficial energy it creates disturbing s mental waves.
    There has been definitely a change in the world more so in the last year. It is some force that pushes many over the cliff. These individuals just in the moments of times are doing things no one ewer thought of them of such sorts. Satan is a ruling much of the earth. He is a dark angel and feeds on negative energy. He is very lucky and strong because we have much of negative energy in the world.
    So, the angels of God of lights, are not working, because they do not have energy of their own also, they live and powered by a positive energy. We must send out many positive thoughts for them to be able to counter the evil dark angels. The only way is to disarm these dark angels is through thoughts of love and healing thoughts send out to the universe.
