Three people are facing charges ---- following a pair of non-related stabbings on New Year's Day in Hamilton.
Police were first called to a home on Tisdale Street North at about 4:30 in the morning ---- after recieving reports that a man had been stabbed.
The victim was rushed to hospital in serious but stable condition. Two men who were inside of the home, 21 year old Ryan Smoke of Six Nations and 26 year old Michael Jamieson of Ohsweken, were arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
The second stabbing happened about eight hours later ---- when officers were called to the area of Emerald and Cannon Streets due to reports of problems involving a group of about a dozen young people.
When officers arrived they found that two people had been stabbed with a knife. Both were taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. A 17 year old accused was later arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
