Hamilton's Director of Economic Development is dismissing a new study that places the city out of the top 10 in Canada.
The CIBC study puts Hamilton 14th on the list in terms of economic growth last year.
But Neil Everson tells CHML's Bill Kelly the study is flawed.
For example, he CIBC used the number of building permits issued instead of the value of the permits.
Everson also takes issue with the study using percentage changes instead of changes in total value.
He has since spoken with those responsible for the study and has been assured that changes will be made to how the calculations are made.
Everson says he doesn't think this particular ranking will hurt Hamilton's image of a city in the midst of economic growth.
