Hamilton launched the 400 thousand dollar online campaign yesterday to gather public input into the future of city services.
The city's Director of Neighbourhood Development Strategies says it's part of a commitment to better citizen engagement however Paul Johnson is apologizing for some early problems tied to the "Our Voice, Our Hamilton" project.
The company hired to undertake the project has been targetted as being out of touch after it clearly didn't know what the acronym "HSR" meant while responding to a public message.
Johnson says some gaffes are clearly on the part of the project's consultant but he stresses that they are also working to solve some external security breaches.
He also stresses that he hopes the controversy doesn't detract from the purpose of the project which is to provide different avenues for the public to comment on important issues, in this case, services that the city provides.
