Brace yourself, the flu season has kicked up a notch.
Hamilton Public Health Services says there were more than double the confirmed cases of flu last week than in any given week in the past five years.
Public Health's Jordan Walker says Hamilton's first official case was reported on November 9th.
Since then, there have been 236 lab-confirmed cases, the majority of which are Influenza A.
And Walker says January is usually worse than December for the flu.
He says the most effective form of protection is getting the flu vaccine.
You should also wash your hands regularly and stay home if you are sick.
