No charges will be laid against a Hamilton police officer in connection with an incident that has left a 23 year old man with a fractured spine.
Ontario's Special Investigations Unit has determined that the officer did nothing wrong while tracking a person who was acting suspiciously and ended up falling more than six metres after jumping a fence on Duke Street this past November.
The SIU says the man had exited his car and ran after parking outside of an apartment building.
The director of the police watchdog describes him as "the author of his own misfortune".
