The future of Hamilton's boundaries could be decided over the next three weeks.
The Ontario Municipal Board has begun a hearing into plans for the proposed expansion of industrial lands around the Hamilton airport.
Under the plan, more than 700 hectares of agricultural land in and around the airport would be turned into an industrial park.
City lawyer Nancy Smith has told the board the so-called Aerotropolis plan is the result of years of planning, research and public engagement.
A lawyer representing those opposed says the proposal for the land doesn't meet employment forecasts set out by the province.
