Marwan Hage has agreed to a new contract with the Tiger-Cats that will see the veteran offensive lineman remain in Hamilton through the 2015 season.

The former East Division Most Outstanding Lineman was slated to become a free agent next month.

Since being selected in the second round (14th overall) of the 2004 CFL Draft, Hage has suited up in 126 regular season games over nine seasons and has been the Ticats starting centre since 2005.

Hage has established himself as one of the league's premier offensive lineman over the course of his career, earning recognition as a CFLPA All-Star four times, an East Division All-Star twice and a CFL All-Star once.  Hage has also been named the Ticats Most Outstanding Lineman four times and was selected as the East Division's Most Outstanding Lineman in 2010.

Hage is also renowned for his contributions to the Hamilton community.  His community program, Hage's Heroes, has welcomed over 5,000 underprivileged youth to Tiger-Cats home games, fed over 6,000 families through food drives and made numerous donations to local charities since its inception in 2007.

He was honoured with the CFL's Tom Pate Memorial Award in 2009 in recognition of his efforts in the community.

The Tiger-Cats also have released quarterback Qunton Porter.   In five seasons with Hamilton, Porter completed 358-562 passes, for 4,095 yards, 21 touchdowns and 18 interceptions.
