The Mercanti bid for a Hamilton Casino has some high powered help.
The Hamilton Spectator is reporting The Hard Rock Cafe is going to partner with Carmen's Group to develop a casino.
It has hotels and casinos in eight locations including Las Vegas and Macau.
The Mercanti bid is to be officially rolled out to city council on February 6th.
But the published report says it will be a 700-thousand-square-foot, 250 million dollar complex.
It said the casino would have up to 12-hundred slot machines and table games and could generate up to 200 million dollars in revenue each year.
The proposal by The Carmen's Group also reportedly includes a plan to house the Canadian Football Hall of Fame within its casino and entertainment complex.
However, that idea is unfounded according to Ward 2 Councillor Jason Farr, who sits on the Board of Directors for the Hall of Fame.
Farr tells The Spectator there has been no formal discussion to merge the museum with the Mercanti family plan.
The Hard Rock Café, who is part of the partnership is not commenting.
There is another Casino public meeting at Hamilton City Hall tongiht.
