Downtown property owners are surprisingly quiet on the casino question.
Hamilton's Downtown BIA asked for their position on a proposed gaming facility in the city core, but the response is described as "too small to make an informed or representative opinion".
Gerry Murphy says they sent out more than 400 surveys and only 79 were completed.
That means fewer than 20% of downtown property owners and businesses opted to participate.
Of those that did respond, 55% were somewhat or strongly opposed to a gaming facility downtown. 33% were somewhat or strongly in favor and 12% were neutral.
Murphy suggests the low response could indicate that people don't have enough information.
