There is still no resolution to the controversy surrounding the city's public engagement campaign.
Hamilton politicians met behind closed doors for several hours on Wednesday night but emerged without a decision on whether to severe ties with Dialogue Partners.
Some councillors have called for the Ottawa firm to be fired after it made a number of blunders in launching "Our Voice, Our Hamilton", including asking "what is the HSR" on Twitter and using images of other cities named Hamilton in its social media campaign.
Dialogue Partners is said to be offering additional work and other incentives to help keep its 376 thousand dollar contract.
City Manager Chris Murray will also say that staff have been given direction to seek answers to a number of questions and report back to council in about two weeks.
