Saying it will put an undue burden on city taxpayers, Environmental groups have told the OMB the proposed industrial expansion around Hamilton's airport will harm the sensitive rural ecology.
And Larry Pomerantz of the Hamilton Civic League says there is no certainty the projected jobs and development suggested by the city will actually occur.
He adds the cost to develop the new lands is too high at a time when Hamilton is already two billion dollars behind on infrastructure repair.
The OMB hearing wraps up this week but it's not known when a decision will be handed down.
