One man is in custody and another is being sought following an early morning assault near Hamilton's downtown core.
Police were called to Double Double Pizza on John Street South at around 2:40 Sunday morning.
A man was involved in a verbal arguement with two men.
The dispute escalated and the man was punched and kicked and suffered significant facial injuries.
The assailants fled.
A police investigation led to the arrest of a 23-year old Hamilton man.
Police are still looking for a second suspect.
