Progress is being made as Hamilton politicians work away at the 2013 operating budget.
As of Monday morning's meeting of the General Issues Committee, the tax increase was about 2.9% or 100 dollars for the average homeowner.
City Council's goal is to hold the line on taxes and meetings to be held over the next several weeks will determine whether it gets there.
Departmental presentations will begin later this week with public delegations slated for February.21st at City Hall. Council hopes to finalize the budget in late March.
