A controversy has developed over the awarding of a Diamond Jubilee Medal to Caledonia activist Gary McHale.
Six Nations Chief Bill Montour is so upset about it, he's returning the medal he was awarded just last week.
He is sending it back to Governor General David Johnston.
Montour says he won't wear the same medal as Gary McHale.
McHale is known for his frequent rallies and marches in Caledonia since the Six Nations uprising over the disputed Douglas Creek Estates lands and has also criticized the OPP for what he says is two tier policing by treating natives and non-natives differently.
McHale was recommended for the award by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation and is set to receive it February 18th.
