Another local group has come out against a casino in Hamilton.
The Roundtable for Poverty Reduction tells the Spectator -- "a new casino development would not advance our community’s aspiration of Making Hamilton the Best Place to Raise a Child."
The group admits a casino might bring new jobs to Hamilton, but they would most likely be part-time and low-skill positions.
It says gambling will likely increase among low-income households and increase gambling disorders.
The Mercanti group is expected to unveil its casino plans to city councillors at an "invitation only" event today at Sizzle night club.
