Hamilton Spectator

The mother of a 10-year-old Hamilton boy who was attacked by two dogs wants the German shepherds put down.

Tammy Davey says her son Zackery was attacked on January 29th, near Mount Albion School.

Both dogs were on leashes being held by a friend.

Davey says the when Zackery went to say hello, the dogs became startled and bit her son on the arm and lip.

He received 21 stitches, 19 of them on his forearm.

The owner of the dogs accuses the boy of taunting the dogs in the past.

Hamilton’s animal services department is investigating.

Both dogs have been quarantined for 10 days to ensure they don't have rabies.

About 18 yrs. ago I was bitten by a beautiful husky. This dog know me very well.
I daily used to go up to the cage of the dog and conversed with him. One day the dog was with the owner on their yard and I just went to say hello to the owner and started a conversations. The dog was just feeding of a round plate. As I took a step to make a move to some directions the dog jumped up and bit my hands. I never been close to the dog before when he was feeding. I guess he though I might be coming to take his food. I got 15 stitches in my hand and a tetanus shut. It was my fault to invade the dogs territory more so when he was feeding. He was a beautiful animal, but sometimes we forget that they have their own nature and way of behaving. I now never ever go close to a dog not in any ways. Even if the owner would tell me that they are friendly, I do not take the chance, may be the dog does not match with me. Beware always with all animal. Even with cats . They can take your eyes out. Sorry for the incident. Sorry the boy. But, I ,think we must understand that the brain is with us to have common sense. It most likely was no ones fault it just happened.
