A pair of suspects have been arrested in Kitchener after an early morning robbery in Hamilton.
Police say a 25-year-old arranged to meet a female acquaintance at a hotel at about 1:30 Tuesday morning. He was met at the door by the female and once inside was confronted by two males, one with a gun and the other a knife.
The suspects took the victim's wallet, cell phone and vehicle and then fled to the Kitchener-Waterloo area.
With the help of Waterloo Police the vehicle was located and the suspects arrested at a home on Weber Street. A stand-off ensued afterwards with police wanting to question other people inside the home. It caused the closure of the street for several hours. It ended around 2 pm after police obtained a search warrant.
The robbery victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police believe this may have been a targeted incident.
