Something new from Tim Hortons.
As part of a pilot project, Tim's has installed its first electric vehicle charging stations at its outlet on Wyecroft Road in Oakville.
They will be free for customers.
Tim's Paulo Ferreira says the electric vehicle infrastructure is in its infancy and the goal is to explore and understand the technology, to see how it can work at the company's restaurants.
Tim Hortons partnered with Oakville Hydro and the Town of Oakville to launch the pilot project.
It's in continues discussions with additional municipalities in an attempt to expand the pilot.
Ford Motor Company of Canada provided Tim Hortons with the C-MAX Energi Plug-in Hybrid for testing purposes.
