There could be an internal investigation at Hamilton Police after a police cruiser was broken into and some equipment, including ammunition and a baton, was stolen.
Constable Debbie McGreal-Dinning says details of what happened will factor into whether an internal probe is launched.
The items stolen, including pepper spray, handcuffs and body armour, were taken from an unmarked cruiser parked in the Wendover and Magnolia Drive area on Tuesday morning.
Officers who are assigned unmarked cruisers are allowed to take their vehicles and equipment home, but there are procedures for how the equipment is supposed to be handled and stored.
Three civilian vehicles were also broken into at the same time as the unmarked cruiser.
