One of the sticking points with building a new casino complex at Flamboro Downs is a potential conflict with the Greenbelt Act.
Premier Kathleen Wynne was straight forward when talking about the possibility of working around the act.
Wynne says "Whatever decision the city makes will have to be consistent with the greenbelt legislation and the provincial policy statement, so they will need to make sure that they conform to all those provincial policies."
The Premier also pointed out that the government will "allow municipalities, within the framework of other provincial policies, to decide whether they want a casino or not and where it will be located"
Wynne made the comments during a conference call this afternoon.
