A 28-year-old man is facing a charge of assault with a weapon after a weekend fight on Oak Avenue in Central Hamilton.
It happened Saturday night at about midnight.
Police say two men got into a fight and one of them pulled a knife.
Officers got to the scene quickly because they were already on Oak Avenue at the site of a suspicious garage fire.
The investigation into the fire continues.
