Snowmobiler dies in Muskoka
CHML
2/19/2013

A Smithville man is dead after his snowmobile went through the ice on a river in Muskoka.

The body of 48-year-old Edward DeHaan was pulled from the water yesterday.

Provincial police say he and three other snowmobilers took a wrong turn while heading back to their cottage Sunday evening and ended up plunging into open water in the Muskoka River.

Muskoka OPP say Dehaan was the only snowmobiler who did not make it out of the water.

All four were from the Niagara region and unfamiliar with the area.
