Residents chime in on Pan Am Precinct
CHML
2/22/2013

Lots of ideas being bandied about for the future of the Pan Am Stadium Precinct.

Among the ideas ---closing down Cannon Street East either temporarily for events or even for good....once the stadium is built.

It came up at the first of three public meetings being held to consider options for the area.

Some ideas include:  a new library, a rec centre, a "decent" pub, green space and more residents.

They also mentioned what they don't want to see — more dollar stores, convenience stores and tattoo parlours.

About a hundred turned up for the first meeting, with other sessions coming up in March and April.

What do you want to see included?

An idea would be to have the stretch of Canon between Gage and Lottridge run underground and pave the area so there is ample parking for the games.

Shame on city hall people . They voted for the stadium in the knowledge that there were not enough park space reserved. Underground with our roads? I think they need to put their ideas underground. By out some houses or just leave it with out parking space. The future is for not having so many cars. Do not build on the past but on the future. Let people park where is available and let them take the bus to the stadium. Our wise and elected ones again made a big mistake. These people are not fit to look after our city period. They will go off positions and off the world like all of us in time but their stupidity will remain to hunt us and make us remember for generations to come. I pray that they are touched with some wisdom from the heavens and that they will not rejected. it.
