New research out of Hamilton has unveiled two new and safe blood thinners.
Studies published in the New England Journal of Medicine this month show the drugs were effective in long term protection against blood clots in the legs and lungs.
The lead author is Dr. Sam Schulman from Hamilton Health Sciences and McMaster University.
The only downside is the new drugs are significantly more expensive than current drugs.
