Campaigning against "fake pot"

Halton and Niagara police are the latest to launch an educational campaign against synthetic marijuana.

It's sold in head-shops under the brand IZMS, but is also known as K2.

Police say it's made from a synthetic version of THC, the active ingredient in pot.

Health Canada says it's illegal and police say they are going to work with businesses that are selling it and have to taken off the shelves.

They're hoping to make an official announcement later this week.

    Here is another classic example of how stupid society is becoming. If it is illegal , the police should go in and cofiscate all of it and shut these stores down.Why should these people be treated any differently than the street dealers. This must be our civic leaders trying to be politically correct so they don't offend the criminals. A criminal is a criminal.By working with the businesses , are they going to ask them nicely , maybe entice them by compensating them for any products that they remove. This is totally absurd.

    The reason why "fake pot" SHOULD be illegal (assuming that it isn't yet) is because "fake pot" is actually quite bad for your health.

    Contrary to this article, "fake pot" is NOT made from THC, it is made-up of several legal herbs which resemble cannabis but which actually lack THC. (the reason WHY they aren't illegal)

    I believe that "fake pot" SHOULD be illegal because it is bad for your health and that real cannabis should be legal because it is NOT bad for your health if it is consumed safely (vapourized, cooked-with and eaten etc.).

    The responsible, timely and moderate consumption of medical cannabis has never harmed anyone but the egos of prohibitionists who just prefer to lock people up in jail for years for simply having the nerve to self-medicate by smoking a joint.

    Either way: "fake pot" IS bad for you, don't buy it!
