There are now a total of nine cases of C.difficile at Juravinski Hospital.
An outbreak was declared on Monday in the inpatient Hematology unit with five cases confirmed.
Hamilton Health Sciences says a sixth person acquired the infection elsewhere in the hospital, and three were brought in from the community -- but those four are not included in the outbreak.
Officials say one man of the original five cases has died but that the infection was not a factor in his death.
No news cases in the hematology ward have been reported and remains open.
