Dustin Tokarski made 31 saves for his first shutout as a Bulldog in Hamilton's 2-0 win over Lake Erie.
Greg Pateryn opened the scoring at 7:26 of the first period on a shot from the right point that beat Monsters goaltender Calvin Pickard.
The Dogs added to their lead with 65 seconds left in the first period when Michael Bournival finished off a pretty passing play just as a power play had expired.
Lake Erie outshot the Bulldogs 31-28, but went 0-for-5 with the man advantage in front of 10,011 fans at Quicken Loans Arena.
The Dogs were 0-for-3 on the power play.
Hamilton has won 7 of their last 10 games and are 13-and-0 when leading after two periods this season.
The Bulldogs' next game is Tuesday night when they host the Abbotsford Heat at Copps Coliseum.
The puck drops at 7:30pm.
