Lawn parking clamp down coming?
Hamilton Spectator
3/4/2013

An attempt to fix a problem in the west end of Hamilton, may have a financial impact on the east end.

There is a new by law in the works to ban parking on lawns across the city.

It's been prompted by complaints in Westdale and Ainslie Woods about students parking on front lawns.

As for Ivor Wynne parking, the by-law would be enacted on a complaint basis, where the police would be called in if someone lodged a complaint.

The proposed fine would be $150 for illegal parking on front or side yards and boulevards — which is essentially the strip of grass between the sidewalk and the road.

The proposal will go to the planning committee on March 19.
