Halton police have laid charges in a bogus auto theft scheme.
Police received a call from a man last month about the theft of his 2009 Toyota Camry from a vehicle auction.
Investigators found the car at a storage facility in Mississauga and determined it had been hidden at that facility before it was reported stolen to police.
Further details emerged that implicated an Oakville auto body shop in the scam, and a search warrant turned up more stolen property. Two men, one from Oakville and the other from Milton, are facing fraud charges.
