Hamilton's roads crew scandal has earned the city some dubious recognition.
It was included in the Canadian Taxpayers' Federation's annual awards for waste, called the Teddies.
The 29 workers were fired in January for theft of time and it scored a nomination for worst performance by a city roads crew.
Hamilton’s growing public works scandal was mentioned along with the province’s decision to cancel two gas plants during the last election and a controversial union contract for work performed for the Toronto District School Board.
The federation did give a thumbs up to Hamilton for hiring private investigators to get to the bottom of the allegations.
Meantime, the investigation continues into the role of supervisors in this scandal.
