The BEAR unit believes that there is a link between a rash of armed robberies over the past 24 hours in Hamilton.
A little before 4 o'clock on Thursday morning, investigators say a lone male was brandishing a knife when he entered a gas bar on King Street East and demanded cash from the clerk. He fled with an undisclosed amount.
About four hours later, officers believe the same male entered the Days Inn on Main Street East and confronted the lone clerk, again carrying a small knife and demanding cash.
He fled empty handed, but had better luck at about 9:30 at a bank on James Street North when he handed over a note demanding cash and indicating that he had a gun.
The suspect is described as a white male with a tan complexion, 5'4" - 5'6" and of heavy build with a dark brown goatee and moustache and brown eyes.
