A Hamilton man has been charged in connection with a stabbing death in Stoney Creek.
Hamilton police say they were informed by Guelph police yesterday morning about a possible homicide at an apartment building on Cherrywood Drive.
Officers found the body of 36-year-old Tania Cowell on the third floor, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Guelph police arrested Cowell's common law husband, 35-year-old Haiden Suarez Noa.
He was brought back to Hamilton and charged with second degree murder in her death.
Police say the couple had a 5-month-old baby boy.
The child was unharmed and is currently in the custody of the Children's Aid Society.
A post mortem is scheduled for today.
Investigators say they do not have a motive for the killing and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
