A Hamilton resident is disputing the claim that the Charlton East underpass is safe.
The city says that despite some falling concrete last Friday, the structural integrity of the underpass was not in trouble.
But Dianne Clark disagrees.
She was driving her 80 year old mother home from a medical appointment on Friday afternoon when her windshield was shattered by a huge chunk of ice.
She suspects some concrete dented the front of her car and fell to the ground, but didn't want to leave her mother alone in the car to check it out.
A portion of the underpass was blocked off by Friday evening when Hamilton police reported some fallen concrete.
Roads Department Manager Darrell Smith says the underpass structure is safe and the concrete that fell is a finishing type of cement.
