The federal and provincial goverments are teaming up to pay for 23.8 million dollars worth of improvements to Highway 403 between Highway Six and Aberdeen Avenue.
Local Liberal M-P-P and Cabinet Minister Ted McMeekin says environmental assessments are underway but it could be 2016 before construction begins.
The complex project includes an assessment and rehabilitation of the Desjardins Canal Bridge.
The Plains Road underpass will also be upgraded.
McMeekin is already apologizing to motorists, up to three years in advance, for the inconvenience.
