Winter hangs on tight
Jay McQueen
3/18/2013

Winter isn't going away without a fight.

A special weather statement has been issued by Environment Canada, in anticipation of a winter storm rolling through Southern Ontario.

Officials say it'll start off as snow this afternoon, before ice pellets are thrown into the mix.

By this evening, the snow and ice pellet mix may also feature some freezing rain before it all changes over to rain overnight.

Tomorrow will start off rainy but as the temperature drops, snow will make a return.

The variety of precipitation means accumulations will be kept at bay for the most part.

Hamilton will likely only see about two centimetres worth of snow this afternoon, then perhaps another two centimetres tomorrow once it changes back over.

Gusty east winds to 60km/h will make it all just that much more unpleasant.
