A Hamilton pediatrician is now on trial facing 34 charges and all but one of them is for sexual offences.
Dr. Daniel Marshall has worked as a children’s doctor in Hamilton for more than 25 years, most recently at a practice on Mohawk Road East.
He’s facing 21 counts of sexual interference, 12 counts of sexual assault and one count of fail to comply, for an alleged breach of his bail conditions.
The allegations span from 1987 to 2010.
Marshall specialized in treating children with behavioural disorders such as attention deficit disorder, depression and autism.
In the opening statement, the Crown alleges Marshall’s frequent genital exams were not medically warranted.
The trial is expected to last about five weeks.
