The Egyptian born wife of a Hamilton man has been ruled a flight risk by Immigration and is staying at a federal detention centre in Mississauga.
It means that Wafaa Abdou is still unable to see her three children.
She's been separated from them since being detained in January.
They range in age from six to eleven.
Her husband, Ian Wilkie is disappointed by this week's ruling, but is not surprised.
Abdou was first detained because Wilkie did not go through correct procedures to sponsor his wife when the couple fled Syria in 2011.
He had been working there as a translator.
The case comes back before immigration officials on April 17 when Abdou could be deported.
