Our Story
Looking to get maximum bang for your charitable buck? Do you want your donation to make a difference in the life of a child? Would you like your donation to be put into action helping THIS community? Consider the CHML/Y108 CHILDREN’S FUND. The fund was established in 1976 by AM900 CHML with a mandate to assist and fund children’s causes and programs in Hamilton/Halton.
It became a legally registered charity with tax exempt status shortly after. Fundraising activities are orchestrated year round by AM900 CHML and Y108, with our major drive being the CHML/Y108 CHRISTMAS TREE OF HOPE campaign. In 2010, THE CHML/Y108 CHILDREN’S FUND took over stewardship of OPERATION SANTA CLAUS with the blessing of Jimmy and Susan Lomax, and the OPERATION SANTA CLAUS TOY DRIVE is now a major part of our CHRISTMAS TREE OF HOPE activity.
All monies are distributed annually to local organizations that cater specifically to the needs of local children, at Christmas and throughout the year. The fund is administered by a volunteer board, and all airtime is donated by Corus Entertainment Inc. Donations can be made in person during regular business hours at our head offices at 875 Main Street West in Hamilton, or on-line year round.
We encourage you to GIVE WHERE YOU LIVE – please help support the CHML/Y108 CHILDREN’S FUND!
