CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS

THE CHML “TALK SHOW IDOL 4” CONTEST

1. THE CONTEST AND THE CONTEST PERIOD

The CHML Talk Show Idol contest (the “Contest”) commences at 1:00pm August 29, , 2009 and concludes at 3:00pm November 13, 2009 (the “Contest Period”).

2. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY

3. ELIGIBILITY

The Contest is open to residents of Ontario, who have attained the age of eighteen (18), but excluding employees and directors of CHML-AM (“CHML”), Corus Entertainment Inc. (“Corus”), any affiliate (as defined in the Canada Business Corporations Act) of CHML or Corus (the “Affiliates”), employees, officers and directors of Transat A. T. Inc., (the “Sponsor”), as well as family members of any of the foregoing.

4. HOW TO ENTER

(a) Phase I – Submissions, August 29, 2009-October 16, 2009

Listeners may visit the “Contest” section at www.900chml.com and complete a Contest registration form in full, including a submission explaining why they want to be the next “Talk Show Idol”.

(b) Phase II – Interviews, September 1, 2009-October 2, 2009

From September 1, 2009-October 2, 2009, Contest judges will select a minimum of four (4) and a maximum of ten (10) entrants to attend at CHML studios, 875 Main Street West, Hamilton, for an interview. Each week, four (4) entrants will be selected to advance to Phase III (the “Quarter-Finalists”).

All interviewees will be photographed, prior to which they must sign a standard form document acknowledging that CHML and Corus own all rights in the photograph created in connection with the Contest (the “Contest Material”) and that CHML and Corus are therefore entitled to use the Contest Material in any and all manner and media now known and hereafter created throughout the world in perpetuity without limitation, and in particular, on the CHML website.

(c) Phase III – The Competition, September 14, 2009-October 23, 2009

Each of the four (4) Quarter-Finalists will be required to complete the following three (3) tasks:

I. Join Bob & Shiona at 7:50am live by phone to participate in a “Current Events Quiz”; and

II. Join Scott Thompson live by phone at 5:10pm for ’60 Seconds of Straight Talk’, during which Scott will give the Quarter-Finalist one (1) word in connection with which he or she will be required to “ad lib” for 60 seconds;

Each Friday beginning on September 14, 2009 until October 23, 2009, the four (4) Semi-Finalists will be invited to return to the CHML studios between 1:00pm and 3:00pm to co-host a live ten (10) minute segment, during which each Semi-Finalist will be asked to prepare and deliver a two- minute editorial and to respond to phone calls. The audio segment and photograph of each Quarter-Finalist will be posted on www.900chml.com during Phase III. Listeners will be invited to vote online for their favourite Semi-Finalist. The six (6) Quarter-Finalists who receive the most votes will continue to Phase IV (the “Finals”).

(d) Phase IV – The Finals, October 30, 2009

The 6 Weekly Winners/Finalist will be required to return to CHML studios October 30, 2009) to host a live ten (10) minute segment, during which each Finalist will be asked to prepare and deliver a two- minute editorial and to respond to phone calls. The audio segment and photograph of each Semi-Finalist will be posted on www.900chml.com. Listeners may vote online for their favourite Finalist, however judges will have final say as to who wins Phase IV.


5. THE PRIZES

The Grand Prize will include an opportunity to host, co-host or participate in a talk show on CHML, at a date and with a format to be determined by CHML as well as an all inclusive one week vacation for two (2) to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico from Toronto staying at the NH Krystal Puerto Vallarta.

The Runner-Up Prize from Phase IV – The Finals will also receive an all inclusive one week vacation for two (2) to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico from Toronto staying at the NH Krystal Puerto Vallarta.

And one (1) applicant from Phase I – Submissions will be selected at random to win an all inclusive one week vacation for two (2) to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico from Toronto staying at the NH Krystal Puerto Vallarta (the “Phase I Prize”).

The “The Runner-Up Prize”, “Phase I Prize”, and the “Grand Prize” are collectively referred to as the “Prizes” or a “Prize”.

The Prizes must be taken between October 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010 except for December 15, 2009 to January 4, 2010, February 1-28, March Break or Easter(the “Travel Period”). If the Prize winner is unable to travel during the Travel Period, he or she will forfeit the Prize.

All 3 prizes will be awarded Monday November 2.

6. THE GRAND PRIZE VALUE

The approximate retail value of each Prize is $3,000 per vacation.

7. EXPENSES

The Prize winner and his or her guest, if applicable, are responsible for all incidental expenses incurred for the purpose of taking or during the trip including, but not limited to, ground transportation not specifically mentioned in Section 6, above, airport improvement fees, travel insurance, trip cancellation insurance, connector flights, sightseeing tours, tips, departure taxes, fees and surcharges, excess baggage fees, costs associated with obtaining travel documents, visas, or necessary vaccinations, or items of a personal nature (the “Expenses”). The Prize winner and his or her guest, if applicable, understand that they may not seek reimbursement for the Expenses from CHML, Corus, the Affiliates, the Sponsor or their respective advertising and promotional agencies. The Prize winner and his or her guest are responsible for ensuring that they have all necessary travel documents prior to departure.

8. EDITORIAL CONTENT

All editorial submissions made by Contest entrants must be free from vulgar or sexually explicit language, expletives, suggestion of gratuitous violence and should, at all times, be compliant with the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council’s Code of Ethics (www.cbsc.ca/english/codes/cabethics/ethics.htm). A tape delay will be instituted in cases where Contest entrants have, in CHML and Corus’ sole discretion, violated any principle of the Code of Ethics or in cases where the editorial content is otherwise considered unsuitable for broadcast.

9. LIMITATION ON NUMBER OF ENTRIES PERMITTED

Only one entry per person per household is permitted each week. Multiple entries will be discarded but listeners can enter each week if they desire until they are offered an interview. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are reproduced, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way.

10. CHANCES OF WINNING

Chances of winning depend on the total number of registered Contest entrants. CHML listeners will be invited to vote for their favourite contestant on a weekly basis on www.900chml.com . The results of listener voting will not be binding. Listener votes will only help Contest judges make their decisions, which will be made in their sole discretion. All decisions made by CHML Contest judges will be final.


11. NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES

Neither CHML nor Corus makes any representation or offers any warranty, express or implied, as to the quality or fitness of the Prize. The Prize winner understands and acknowledges that he or she may not seek reimbursement or pursue any legal or equitable remedy from CHML or Corus should the Prize fail to be fit for its purpose or is in any way unsatisfactory to the Prize winner.

12. DECLARATION AND RELEASE OF PRIZE WINNER

Before being awarded the Prize, the Prize winner and his or her travel companion, must sign a standard form confirming that by entering the Contest:

? he or she read, understood and accepted these rules and regulations;

? he or she understands that acceptance of the Prize may involve danger and/or exposure to risks and hazards of both man-made and natural origin, whether arising from foreseeable or unforeseeable human error and negligence, and that, as a result, he or she may suffer damage to personal property, serious personal injury, illness or even death;

? he or she nevertheless freely and voluntarily agrees and does hereby assume any and all risks of personal injury, illness, death arising out of or connected with his or her participation in the Contest and winning the Prize; and

? he or she releases CHML, Corus, the Affiliates, the Sponsor and all of their directors, officers, employees, agents as well as their respective advertising and promotional agencies (collectively, the “Releasees”) from any and all liability arising in connection with participation in the Contest and acceptance of the Prize, including, without limitation, any financial, legal or moral responsibility or loss or personal injury including death or damage to or loss of property suffered or incurred or arising from participating in the Contest or accepting the Prize, whether suffered by the Prize winner or his or her guest, or by his or her heirs, administrators, personal representatives or executors, and notwithstanding that such injuries or losses may have been caused solely or partly by any act, omission, negligence or gross negligence of any or all of the Releasees; and

? he or she consents to the use of his or her name, city of residence, photograph, voice, likeness, image or any other aspect of his or her personality for any publicity and programming purposes related to the Contest, commercial or otherwise, in all media used by CHML and Corus and their promoters and their advertising and promotional agencies without any payment or compensation.

13. PRIZE TO BE ACCEPTED AS AWARDED

The Prize must be accepted as awarded. No portion of the Grand Prize is transferable. The Grand Prize is not redeemable for cash and no substitute for any portion of the Grand Prize is offered. Should the Grand Prize winner be unable to claim the Prize as awarded, his or her entry will be forfeited.

14. SUBSTITUTION OR CHANGE TO THE CONTEST

CHML, Corus, the Sponsor and their respective advertising and promotional agencies reserve the right to substitute the Prize or any component thereof, for those of approximately the same value and reserve the right to change the Contest rules or terminate or withdraw the Contest at any time, without prior notice.

15. OWNERSHIP OF ENTRIES

All entries shall become the property of CHML, Corus, the Sponsor and their advertising and promotional agencies. The Releasees assume no responsibility for lost, stolen, destroyed or otherwise indecipherable entries due to any failure or technical malfunction of the telephone network, on-line computer systems of equipment, servers, access providers, software, poor reception, technical problems, failure of any email or submission or due to any other reason regardless of cause.

16. CONSENT TO USE OF PERSONALITY

By entering the Contest, each entrant, including the Prize winner, consents to the use of his or her name, city of residence, photograph, voice, likeness, image or any other aspect of his or her personality for any publicity and programming purposes, commercial or otherwise, in all media used by CHML Corus, the Sponsor and their promoters and their advertising and promotional agencies, without any payment or compensation. The Prize winner further agrees that his or her audio reaction may be used for on-air promotional purposes. The entrants understand and acknowledge that CHML may contact him or her on-air without prior knowledge as a result of his or her participation in the Contest.

17. CONSENT TO COLLECTION AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

By entering the Contest and voluntarily providing personal information including, but not limited to, name, address, city, email address, home and office telephone numbers (the “Registrant Information”), each Contest entrant grants permission to CHML,Corus and the Sponsor to the collection and use of the Registrant Information for the exclusive purpose of administering the Contest and selecting the Prize winner. No correspondence will take place between CHML, Corus, the Sponsor and the entrants except in connection with the Contest and, in the case of the Prize winner, as a result of entering the Contest and winning the Prize.

18. NO DISRUPTION TO CONTEST

All Contest entrants agree to respect the entry process and the operation of the Contest as outlined in these rules and regulations. CHML, the Sponsor or Corus may disqualify or ban from future contests any Contest entrant or person who CHML, the Sponsor or Corus believes is tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest, to be acting in a disruptive or unsportsmanlike manner, or behaving with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any person associated with CHML, the Sponsor or Corus. Any attempt to deliberately damage a website or to undermine the legitimate operation of a contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should any such attempt be made by a Contest entrant or other person, CHML, the Sponsor and Corus may seek damages or other relief from such Contest entrant or other person to the fullest extent permitted by law.

20. COMPLIANCE WITH CONTEST RULES

All contestants agree to abide by the Contest Rules, which are subject to change at the sole discretion of CHML, Corus and the Sponsor.

21. COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS

This Contest is void where prohibited by law, and is subject to all federal, provincial, territorial and municipal laws and regulations of Canada and of each province, territory and municipality of Canada, respectively.
