
Lloyd Dafoe was born in Saskatchewan and grew up in Windsor, Ontario. He joined the Canadian Army at the beginning of the Second World War and saw distinguished service throughout Holland, Belgium and Germany.
Following the war, Lloyd studied broadcasting at the prestigious Lorne Greene Academy in Toronto. A year later he began his radio career at CHML where he remained as morning news anchor for more than thiry years.
Lloyd retired in 1982 as one of the most respected newscasters in Canadian radio.
