Innovator and human dynamo, Bill Sturrup had a long-standing and successful tenure with CHML since he began his radio career in 1961. His talent and contributions ranged from court and police reporting to sports broadcasting. Many would also recognize him as the familiar in-stadium voice as the PA Sports Announcer, calling virtually every professional and semi-professional sporting event in the GHA.
Paralleled with his drive and determination to make CHML a radio station to be reckoned with, Bill vigorously pursued his goal of helping the community. His support and tireless work with Hamilton's junior hockey teams, and organizations like the Hamilton Bulldogs, and Hamilton Crime Stoppers have made him a well known and respected Hamiltonian.
Although Bill "officially" retired in 2004, he was heard on CHML as a weekend news anchor and sports announcer until he passed away in early 2007.
