On just the second day of school Police were called to Westdale High School after it was put into a Hold and Secure mode.
Police say a call came in at about 10:30 am for a teenage girl in distress.
The hold and secure lasted about 30 minutes and was put into place after receiving information the girl may have had a small knife, which is protocol.
But they add it was not in a threatening manner and at no time did police believe any of the students or staff were in danger.
Police couldn’t confirm if the student actually had a weapon nor could they provide her age.
They say the student is now getting the help she needs.
