For the second week in a row, a McMaster football players has been named an OUA Player of the Week.
Rookie receiver Daniel Vandervoort grabbed offensive honours after making 7 catches for 172 yards and a touchdown in McMaster’s Labour Day loss to Queen’s.
His major came on McMaster’s longest play of the game, when he and quarterback Marshall Ferguson hooked up on a 73-yard TD.
Gaels defensive back Yann Dita-Balotoken is the defensive player of the week after returning two interceptions for touchdowns against Mac.
He was also named the top defender in Week 2 in the CIS, after recording 4.5 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
And the CIS and OUA special teams award went to Guelph kicker Daniel Ferraro.
He went 3-for-4 on field goals and booted a game-winning 17-yarder with eight seconds left in the Gryphons’ 24-23 win over Windsor.
