Hamilton’s “Women in Law” are about to start swinging hammers for a worthy cause.
The group, which includes police officers, auxiliary and by-law officers, lawyers, crown attorneys and others, is teaming up with Habitat for Humanity to build a home just off Beach Boulevard.
A ceremonial sod turning was held Monday morning on Knapmans Drive.
In addition to helping to build the home, Sergaent Myra James says they must raise over 200 thousand dollars towards the construction project.
She stresses that a number of fundraising events are planned.
The city donated the land to the project at a cost of two dollars.
