Police are reminding parents not to leave their children unsupervised in public areas following a scary encounter in Burlington.
Late Wednesday afternoon, investigators say two young girls were shopping at the Burlington Mall when they were inappropriately touched by the same man.
The girls, aged 8 and 10, were at the Dollarama store when they were approached by a man who engaged them in conversation about toys.
The girls moved to another aisle, followed by the man, and while looking at hair products — Halton Police say both girls were touched inappropriately.
The man is described as white and in his early 30’s, 5’7, reddish-brown short hair with a goatee. He wore knee-length shorts, a light coloured t-shirt and a backpack.
Detectives from the Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit are continuing their investigation.
