The 3-0 Guelph Gryphons meet the 2-2 Mac Marauders Saturday at Alumni Stadium in Guelph.
The Gryphons are ranked number 6 in the nation, Mac is number 9.
The Gryphons strength is their defence.
They lead the OUA in yards allowed per game (254), yards passing per game (193), and yards rushing per game (61.)
They also led the OUA in sacks with 17, five of them from defensive tackle Ian Marouf.
Guelph’s all-star running back Rob Farquharson has recovered from his hamstring injury and will be in the lineup. Last season, Farquharson ran for 936 yards (averaging 117 per game) and seven touchdowns; third-best in the CIS.
The two teams met twice last season, both times at Ron Joyce Stadium.
Mac won both those games; 50-9 in the regular season and 30-13 in the Yates Cup.
The last time Mac visited Guelph, was in 2011, again, at the Gryphons homecoming.
Guelph lead 7-0 after the first quarter, and 10-3 at the half.
But Mac exploded in the second half, for a 37-13 win.
The Marauders haven’t lost a regular season game to Guelph since 2005. Since then, they’re 7-0 against the Gryphons.
Meantime, the Gryphons also are on a hot streak. They’ve won their last seven in a row at home.
CHML broadcast time is 1 pm.
