A Hamilton teenager facing a second degree murder charge has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of assault.
Now 18, the accused was one of three suspects in the 2011 stabbing death of a 22-year-old man at a rap concert in Cambridge.
A fight erupted outside the Masonic Temple between a group from Hamilton and a group from Cambridge with up to 30 people involved.
Members of the Hamilton group were preparing to leave after the initial fight subsided when they were challenged by the victim and his friend.
The teen says he went after the victim, but was punched in the face and knocked to the ground.
He had no further involvement.
But it was at that point that one of the other accused picked up a knife and stabbed the Cambridge man once in the chest.
Larry Seth and Wayne Moore remain in custody, with sentencing scheduled for October.
The teen, who spent eight months in jail before he was released on bail in August, is expected to be sentenced in November.
