After an arbitrator described the HSR as a poisoned culture, transit and city officials are promising changes.
The arbitrator has awarded a female inspector 25-thousand dollars for sexual harassment on the job.
The arbitrator referenced a “poisoned” culture where sexist comments were acceptable, and where for years, only one female was promoted to inspector.
HSR director Don Hull admits the transit authority has traditionally been a man’s world, but he says the HSR has hired two female trainers, and two of its seven managers are women.
City manager Chris Murray is also promising city will respond to the issues raised.
